ST. ANASTASIA SACRAMENTAL OUTREACH MINISTRY
Our purpose is to reach out to those parishioners who because of illness, injury or lack of mobility are unable to come to Mass and are in need of the sacraments.
Believing in the significance of each member of our Parish family, after a visit from a priest who offers anointing or reconciliation, Sacramental Outreach Ministers of the Eucharist bring the presence and joy of Christ in the Blessed Sacrament to those who are unable to come to Mass.
You may have wondered who these people are who approach the altar after communion and receive Father’s blessing. At that time Sacramental Outreach ministers receive Eucharistic Hosts which we then carry to those parishioners who cannot attend Mass.
We visit homes and nursing homes, centers of assistance and recuperation, sharing the word of God from Mass and carrying the Eucharistic presence of Christ. A simple Communion service we share with reverence and grace to the homebound or nursing home residents brings the loving care of God and our St. Anastasia Parish to those who then see the Holy Spirit working in our lives.
If you know of a parishioner who is homebound let them know about our Ministry and have them call our Church office to be contacted.
Following Christ’s example of love and service consider becoming a part of this Ministry.
We currently have 17 ministers serving 41 communicants. If you are interested in becoming a minister of the Eucharist in the Outreach Ministry, please contact Barbara Baji (465-5980 or bajibandc@comcast.net).
